2008 Upcoming Classes
January 5 or 6, 2008 - Skills Development - Yellow Bluff
Meet at Horseshoe Cove. On January 5 meet at 10:30 a.m., on the water by 11:15 a.m. On January 6 meet at 11:00 a.m., on the water by 11:45 a.m. Class ends about 5 after the start.
Bring your own boat and the cost is $50. This a skills development class, we will play around Yellow Bluff as the ebb increases. Lots of practice in peeling out, ferry gliding and rough water/bracing. You'll need to gear up for this one, bring your helmet and dress for immersion.
If you need boat or gear, let me know well ahead of time so that I can arrange something appropriate for you.

January 27, 2008 - Forward Stroke Video Class - Jack London Aquatic Center
Meet at www.jlac.org at 9:00 a.m. - class ends between 3:30 and 4:30, depending on the number of students. The cost is $95.
This is a day of fine-tuning your forward stroke. The plan is to tape in the morning, and review for lunch. Then we'll shoot again in the afternoon and review that video in the afternoon. If time permits and people are willing, we'll do a third taping and review.
For an additional $10 you can get a DVD of the class.

Beginning Sea Kayak Classes
Classes are on Saturdays or Sundays. Groups of 2 or more can schedule any day of the week. The class is designed to give you all the information and time to practice the strokes and rescues. The class is $75 per person. Classes include the kayak, paddles, associated equipment and instruction. Class time is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
You may want to bring snacks (fresh fruit, sandwiches, cookies, power bars) to eat during a break or lunch. You will need to bring water. If you prefer bottled water, please supply it in a non-breakable container.
Bring a change of clothes and a towel. You will get wet during the lesson. Expect to enjoy yourself and have some fun!

Sport sandals, neoprene booties, aqua socks or shoes that can get wet; A Hat for Sun Protection, Sunscreen Lotion (15+ spf), Swimsuit, T-shirt (polypropylene, thermal, fleece or nylon), Windbreaker, Sunglasses (with straps), Bottled Water (no glass), wetsuit/shortie/ farmer john if you have one If you get cold easily, you can bring a stocking cap, wool or synthetic. |
